• Edge Laminator for the continuous gluing of core stock; incoming stock from 400 - 2,500 mm length x 8 to 80 mm thickness x 20 to 120 mm in width; 70 to 130 MPM glue applicator speed. • System consists of the following equipment: • (1) Twin sorting system type ''KS 1''; for optimal sorting of incoming parts in front of glue applicator type ''KL 20''. • Operators place stock on the tables in front of them. When the required number of ingoing stock is on the tables and corresponds to the program in the ''KL20'', each individual operator activates a foot pedal and the feed belts raise and convey the stock onto the roller conveyor. • The operator can choose (1), (2), (3) or (4) lay-ups on the roller conveyor before the lay-ups are brought to the angle transfer. The angle transfer allows the lay-ups to be properly aligned against the fence before they are transported by means of chains with dogs onto the first table of the glue applicator. • Photocells assure that the table is ready to receive the next lay-up before the chains start to transfer a new lay-up. The sorting table is equipped with a remote control, which is wired to the glue applicator. • (1) Automatic glue applicator and lay-up system type ''KL 20'' for above mentioned Infeed System a Glue application system for high capacity throughput. • Parts are placed on the lay-up table, where they are sorted before going into the pusher which automatically transports the parts through the vertical glue applicator and directly onto a continuous lay-up system. • The pre-programmed number of parts are laid up and then lowered onto on the belt where they are aligned. In the meantime the next layup has started while the belt moves forward with the first layup. When the table is full the belt carries the parts into the press. • Single sided glue application with a grooved stainless steel roller. The system is equipped with a PLC which controls the glue roller in- or out position depending of the number of parts per layup in a single panel. The PLC also controls the motorized ingoing part setting. • The control cabinet is separate and includes all the necessary control and security switches; a display is standard on KL20. • (1) Feed Through Hot Laminating Press, type ''LV5118'' with automatic press cycle. With 3 kp/cm2 pressure at the press platens; 14,000 kp/m laminating pressure; 22 MPM Conveyor speed and 0.5 - 20 Min press time. • Press platen is 1,800 mm wide x 5,100 mm long; 250 mm stroke of side pressure cylinders; 0.25 mm thick Mylar belt thru the press. • Laminating pressure is applied by means of hydraulic cylinder fixed to a linear beam on which air cylinders clamp the exchangeable pressure beam. The top pressure is parallel guided to guaranty an exact movement. Platens are made with heavy steel and sections to ensure an effective system for water circulation. • Separate circulating pumps ensure accurate temperatures over the entire pressing surface. Water is heated by electric cartridges and can be adjusted up to 120° C (248° Fahrenheit) with a pressure of max. 1.5 bar. Requires 125 amp service at 380 Volt 3-Phase operation; heating power is 54 kW. • Press is 3,000 mm wide x 5,600 mm long x 2,850 mm tall and weighs 20,000 kG (approx. 45,000 Lbs). The stacker is a simple portal stacker placed after the laminating press ''LV5118''. Finished panels come out of the press and move along on a belt conveyor of the stacker. The stacker locates the height of the stack and unloads the panels. • Conveyor is 1,450 mm wide and runs at 20 MPM and makes stack heights from 140 mm to 1,700 mm high. - [Ref.
